Peacock has announced three original films from Universal Pictures to premiere on the service in 2023. Shooting Stars, from LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Company, Praise This, from Will Packer, and a reimagining of The Killer from John Woo are part of the previously announced collaboration with Universal to produce films made exclusively for Peacock.

NBCUniversal has added two streaming vets to Peacock’s executive roster, installing Shannon Willett as Chief Marketing Officer and Brian Henderson as EVP of programming. Both are newly established positions at the company.

Todd Spangler NY Digital EditorPeacock President Kelly Campbell is raiding rival streamers in building out her senior team: NBCUniversal announced that it has hired Shannon Willett, previously at Netflix, as chief marketing officer for Peacock, and Hulu’s Brian Henderson as EVP of programming.Both execs will be based in L.A. and join NBCU in the newly established roles at Peacock, reporting to Campbell, the former president of Hulu who joined Peacock in November.As CMO, Willett will oversee global marketing for Peacock leading all functions including brand management, creative, media planning, marketing operations, social, content marketing, subscriber growth and customer care.Willett spent nearly seven years at Netflix, more recently serving as VP of global marketing strategy and operations, leading a team of 250 employees worldwide.

Todd Spangler NY Digital EditorDisney reorganized its global direct-to-consumer streaming organization, including installing Joe Earley, formerly head of Disney Plus marketing and operations, as president of Hulu.As part of the reorg, Disney is creating a new hub for international content creation under the direction of Rebecca Campbell as chairman, International Content and Operations.Joe Earley, who previously served as EVP, marketing and operations for Disney Plus, has been named President of Hulu. He takes over for former Hulu president Kelly Campbell, who recently exited to join NBCUniversal’s Peacock.Campbell, in her newly expanded role, will focus on local and regional content production for Disney’s streaming services, as well as continue overseeing Disney’s international media teams worldwide, reporting directly to CEO Bob Chapek.
