Brian Eno has spoken about his “powerful” David Bowie collaboration ‘Get Real’ which he is now reworking as part of a new climate change album project.The record, titled ‘Sounds Right’, has been developed by Eno in conjunction with the Museum for the United Nations, in the lead-up to Earth Day on April 22. Aurora and London Grammar are among the other artists enlisted as part of the project.‘Sounds Right’ also sees Mother Nature becoming recognised as an official artist, with her own profile on major streaming platforms, with tracks posted that include sounds from the natural world, including ocean waves, wind, rainstorms and birdsongs. As the accredited artist, ‘Nature’ will also receive royalties for the tracks as they are played.Bowie and Eno’s track ‘Get Real’ is a reworking of a song they recorded together during the ‘1.

Pulp‘s Jarvis Cocker has been confirmed as one of the keynote speakers of The Great Escape‘s newly revamped conference.The Brighton festival will be returning from May 15-18 and will play host to a raft of speakers from across the music industry.Cocker will be presenting a talk on May 18 called ‘Biophobia’, a a special climate-themed talk about getting to grips with nature. Pulp have announced the addition of new dates to their upcoming North American tour, marking their first shows in the US in over a decade.The band previously announced a handful of live dates set to take place in the US starting on September 8. Today (March 20), the Britpop group shared that they have added additional shows in Toronto, New York City and Los Angeles.The new dates are September 11 at HISTORY in Toronto, September 14 at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, and September 19 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

Reverend & The Makers have joined a campaign to save UK steel – describing it as being at the core of Sheffield’s heritage.The indie rock band, who formed in Sheffield, showed their support for the movement by pledging their support to Unite – a union which is campaigning for a just transition for the steel industry and a boost to jobs.Taking to social media, frontman Jon McClure called on his fans and the general public to join the campaign, and highlighted the ways in which the movement is particularly important for his Sheffield hometown.“I think we’ve got to do everything we can to safeguard the industry because it provides so many jobs and is also literally Sheffield’s heritage,” he said in a clip shared on X/Twitter. “It’s the thing Sheffield was founded upon and influences in so many ways the music that has come from the city.”In the footage, the singer is seen talking directly to the camera, encouraging support for the campaign.
