Jack Wilshere spotted with Arsenal squad number as former star hunts for next club
Arsenal as he looks to build his fitness before deciding on his next career move. The former England international hasn't played professionally since being released by Bournemouth in June, but was invited by Gunners boss - and former teammate - Mikel Arteta to take part in Arsenal training back in November, for old time's sake.Wilshere, who turned 30 on New Year's Day, has also been working closely with Arsenal's youth squad in order to help him with his coaching badges.Last month, academy talent Bradley Ibrahim described Wilshere as the "best player in training", prompting suggestions the club could offer their former player a new contract. To stoke the flames further, Wilshere was spotted this week with a squad number on his training gear.Usually, the midfielder would just wear his initials 'JW', but was seen rocking the number 12 - which is currently unassigned in Arsenal's squad. What does this mean? Well probably very little, but there aren't many players who would get a bigger ovation if he did indeed return to the Emirates Stadium.Given Arsenal's current midfield crisis, should they offer Jack Wilshere a contract? Let us know what you think in the comments section below...Wilshere left the Gunners in 2018 after spending much of the previous four seasons on the treatment table. He moved to West Ham United, but played just 19 times in three years before signing a short-term deal with Bournemouth, the club he spent a year on loan at during the 2016/17 season.Despite featuring regularly for the Championship side during his six month stint, he was released in the summer and is yet to find a new a club.
