He was a talented teen that burst onto the scene at Arsenal himself.Now Gunners Under 18 boss Jack Wilshere has handed 13-YEAR-OLD Max Dowman a first outing at an age level five years above.
Dowman came off the bench during a 4-0 win over Southampton , and Wilshere was adamant the Emirates kid deserved his chance after impressing the former England international despite not being long out of primary school.Wilshere is now tasked with preparing the club's academy players for a potential step up to Mikel Arteta's first team.
Wilshere knows the demands, having made his debut for the North London club at 16 before going onto to star in the English Premier League and Champions League.
However, injuries took their toll on Wilshere, who spent plenty of time in the treatment room. Spells and West Ham and Bournemouth failed to see him regain fitness, and he retired in the summer after a brief spell in Denmark with AGF.Now he's on the hunt for the next him, and has high hopes for the promising Dowman.
