DANCING On Ice trailblazer Ian 'H' Watkins insists the programme is the most dangerous show on TV and more technical than rival show Strictly Come Dancing. In 2017 H made history by becoming one half of Dancing On Ice's first ever same sex pairing with pro skater Matt Evers. He managed to escape the series without any major injuries but other stars over the years haven't been so lucky.

Dancing On Ice has become widely known as one of the most dangerous reality shows on British television. With several stars bravely partaking in jaw-dropping lifts and gravity-defying stunts on the ice, the popular programme has often left viewers and show judges squeamish.Throughout the years, several contestants and professional skaters have pushed themselves to the limits and had accidents while training or on the live show itself. And this year's series is no exception, as many of the celebrity contestants have already experienced a terrible accident that has left them fairly shaken. Now that we are halfway through this year's competition, Dail Star has taken a look at the most terrifying falls and injuries that have taken place so far.Happy Mondays star Bez experienced a brutal fall in January while training for the dancing compeition. With only two days to go before the show's highly anticipated launch, Bez, 57, fell to the ground on his back and his head hit the ice.Although he was wearing a helmet at the time, the star's protection gear bounced off his head and rolled away.Lying down flat on the ice, Bez tried his best to slowly get back up on his feet but his dance partner Angela Egan encouraged him to take his time.Since the horrifying incident, Bez has continued to wear his helmet during the live shows - something that hasn't been permitted before.Previously discussing his accident on ITV's Lorraine, the musician confirmed to the host that he will continue to wear his helmet throughout the competition due to the fact that he is "accident-prone" and the ice is far "too slippy".The Vamps singer Connor Ball also experienced a gruesome injury of his own when he smashed his chin on the ice just moments before he was

Inside Stef Reid's horror accident that caused her to have foot amputated
Stef Reid is set to make her Dancing on Ice debut on Sunday, as the second half of the 2022 line-up perform their first routine. The 37-year-old joins the likes of Love Island favourite Liberty Poole and The Vamps star Connor Ball, who will all be performing for the first time on the show after last week's launch.Stef, who previously competed on Celebrity MasterChef in 2018 and was a semi-finalist, is paired with pro skater Andy Buchanan and will perform with a special skating prosthetic leg, after losing her right foot as a teen. The pro athlete mainly competes in T44 long jump and sprint events, and has won a number of medals in her sports, including a silver in Long Jump F44 at the 2012 London games, and the 2016 Rio games.Stef, born to British parents in New Zealand, lost her right foot when she was 15 in a boating accident. The star, who moved to Toronto, Canada when she was four, had been enjoying a weekend with friends when the freak accident happened. The group had been having fun skimming across a lake while holding onto an inflatable ring which was being pulled by a boat. But tragedy struck when Stef took a turn, as she waited for the boat to come and collect her after falling off.She explained in 2016 how she noticed the boat wasn't slowing down as it came towards her, after a miscommunication between the driver and the spotter."I needed to think fast," she told The Mirror.
