Lance Frank has been promoted to the head of communications for CBS News, Stations and Media Ventures, where he will oversee strategy for the news, stations, syndication, talent and programming.

Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor Lance Frank has been named to oversee internal and external communications for the news, stations and syndication unit of Paramount Global’s CBS “In this new role, Lance will oversee all internal and external communications for CBS News, CBS Stations, syndication, talent, programming, first-run syndication and division strategy,” said Wendy McMahon, president and CEO of the division, in a memo to employees Thursday. Frank will report to both McMahon and Chris Ender, executive vice president of communications for CBS Frank was promoted to executive vice president of communications for the unit in January, given oversight of strategic communications for McMahon’s executive team, syndication, primetime newsmagazines, talent relations and events.

Longtime communications executive Mike Nelson is leaving his post as senior vice president of communications for CBS News, Stations and Media Ventures.

Jack Dunn Mike Nelson, a longtime communications executive for CBS Television Stations, is leaving the network after 22 years. “I will be leaving CBS at the end of this month. I believe this is the perfect time for me to spread my wings and pursue my next adventure,” Nelson wrote in announcing his departure.

Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor Christa Robinson and Lance Frank will take on expanded roles for CBS‘ division built around CBS News, local stations and syndicated programming, all put under the aegis of executive Wendy McMahon in August of last year. Frank, who has been with CBS News since 2011, has been elevated to executive vice president, communications for CBS News & Stations and CBS Media Ventures, a new position. Frank will oversee projects tied to McMahon’s central team, including talent relations and events across the division.

CBS talent relations executive Ian Metrose is leaving at the end of March, the company has confirmed.

Kristen Hall is returning to CBS Studios as EVP of communications. She succeeds in the top studio PR job Lauri Metrose who left in June after two decades. Hall, who is coming from Amazon Studios, was considered the lead contender for the job as she has a long history at CBS Studios, including a stint as Metrose’s #2.

Lauri Metrose is exiting her post as EVP, Communications at CBS Studios for a new opportunity outside of the entertainment industry. Metrose, who will leave at the end of June, has spent virtually her entire career to date at CBS, going from a rising star junior publicist to one of the most accomplished and respected TV communications executives in town. Search for her replacement is expected to begin this week.
