Only Fools and Horses actor John Challis was the star behind her memorable cameo in ITV comedy Benidorm.The singer made the appearance in a 2018 episode, which saw John Challis' character Monty sing the song China In Your Hand hilariously out of tune onstage - much to Carol's feigned horror.She has now revealed exclusively to Daily Star that the late Only Fools star personally approached her for the role - and shared an insight into the sweet video John Challis' wife sent to her afterwards."The late, lovely John Challis, he was in it [Benidorm] and he got in touch with me," said Carol."He said 'my character has to sing China In Your Hand really badly in an episode of Benidorm and I think it would be hilarious if you were in the club."So the director said, 'you're on a hen night, you all come barrelling in to this club, and there onstage is John murdering China In Your Hand. You don't have to sing, you just have to look horrified.""That's what we did and it was just really, really fun."She also revealed the heartwarming dedication that John Challis had put into learning the song especially for the episode and the sweet gift that she received after her appearance, saying: "His wife sent me video footage of him learning the song in his hotel room, which was very touching."Asked if she would ever consider making any further cameos on TV, there was one programme that the star revealed that she would love to appear in - The Masked Singer."I'd love to, but I haven't been asked," said Carol, adding: "I'm surprised I haven't been asked, but I haven't been approached yet.
