IT worker stole more than £30,000 worth of cryptocurrency
An IT worker who stole more than £30,000 worth of cryptocurrency has been jailed for 20 months.Mark Andrews, of Woodlands Road, in St Helens, was asked by the victim to provide IT services for his business.The victim, from Wilmslow, first contacted Andrews in April 2019 through his IT support website.Andrews, 38, was employed to carry out IT work at the victim's business premises when he found information that he used to steal cryptocurrency.A mixture of Bitcoin, Litecoin and Etherium was stolen.The victim was able to find out where some of the digital currency had been moved to and found evidence leading to Andrews arrest by Cheshire Constabulary’s Cyber Crime Team.Andrews was arrested at his home address on suspicion of theft of
