Piccadilly Gardens was packed with sunbathers as people enjoyed their new freedoms. Under newly eased lockdown rules, people can mix outdoors in groups of up to six.
But the sunshine is not forecast to stick around, with temperatures set to plummet over the Bank Holiday weekend. Saturday is predicted to begin overcast, with temperatures around 6C to start.
It's set to turn cloudy by lunchtime, but, the sun is then forecast to shine around 4pm and well into the evening, before turning cloudy.
