An 80-year-old pensioner who is in remission from lung cancer has been told by the Government she no longer needs to shield herself.
After receiving the letter Julia Regan from Garston, Liverpool, was told by her GP to continue shielding. She told the Liverpool Echo : "I don't believe a word they [the Government] say.
I will stay in for six months if I have to." Her daughter Lise Regan, 53, said she was "absolutely gobsmacked" when her mum received the letter and said the Government "needs to get its facts straight." Julia has not left her home since March 16 and has COPD, rheumatoid arthritis, and is on steroids.
