Pedestrian killed after being hit by car on Scots island

A woman has tragically died after being hit by a car in a horror crash on a Scots island, as cops launch a probe.At around 4.45pm yesterday (Friday, February 7), Jodie Mitchell was struck by a grey Renault Master panel van on the A858 at North Shawbost, Isle of Lewis.

Emergency service workers rushed to the scene and the 32-year-old woman from South Bragar was raced to Western Isles Hospital, Stornoway, where she died a short time later.The driver of the van was not injured.
