Boy, 9, seriously injured after being hit by bus in Kilmarnock while riding bike

A nine-year-old boy has been taken to hospital following an accident with a bus on Glasgow Road in Kilmarnock. Emergency services were called to the scene yesterday at around 11.45am on Sunday, February 16, following the incident between the young cyclist and a Stagecoach bus.

The boy, whose condition was described as serious by police this morning, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

No-one on the bus was injured.Glasgow Road and the A77 on slip were closed for around five hours as police carried out enquiries before reopening around 5pm.
