Caroline Flack's close pals have shared insights into her feelings about Laura Whitmore replacing her as the host of Love Island.
In December 2019, a few months prior to Caroline's untimely passing, it was announced that Laura would take the reins as the presenter for the hit ITV2 romance reality series.The news came after Caroline's tough chat with ITV chiefs, where she stepped down from her presenting duties following an assault charge after a dispute with her then-partner, Lewis Barton.
Laura helmed the show up until 2022 before Maya Jama took over. Reflecting on five years since Caroline's tragic death, Laura posted on Instagram, sharing screenshots of a Whatsapp exchange with Caroline post-appointment.
Yet, Caroline's inner circle reportedly found this move 'totally unnecessary'. Despite Caroline's messages showing support and happiness for Laura's new gig, a confidante has disclosed that Caroline left voice notes for her friends voicing her heartache when Laura's hosting role was made public.
