‘Peaky Blinders’ gained a cult-like following after the crime drama first aired on British TV screens in 2013.The show follows Tommy Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy, and his family’s rise from the criminal underbelly to the Houses of Parliament.The final episode of season five was broadcast last September and drew in record viewing figures for the show after more than 2.84million watched it. ‘Peaky Blinders’ is based on the “brutal, vile and vicious” real life thugs who “dominated the backstreets of Birmingham” from the late 1800s until just before World War 2.
