Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes believes Georginio Wijnaldum should spurn Barcelona's advances and remain at Liverpool after another commanding display by the midfielder.

Amid an injury crisis across the squad this season, Wijnaldum has been a constant figure for Liverpool with his energy and commitment.

The Dutchman is into the final year of his contract at Anfield and talks over a renewal have not resulted in an agreement. Barcelona were interested in Wijnaldum during the summer transfer window and the Catalans are now managed by his former national team boss Ronald Koeman.
