a Bury school have slammed a new uniform policy which requires them to change their children’s shoes or face punishment. Tottington High School students have allegedly been told they will be ‘sanctioned’ if they do not replace their Kickers Tovni shoes by next week.
The shoes are listed as school appropriate on the retailer’s website and parents say the children have worn them for years without any issues.
Parent Kelly Ratcliffe, whose daughter attends the school, said the new uniform regulations have left students feeling “anxious” and “scared”. “The children have always been allowed to wear this type of shoe,” the 37-year-old said. “They are sold on the Kickers website as school shoes. “It has been changed in the middle of (the pandemic).
