PAOLO NUTINI managed to disappear during his seven-year hiatus from music. But now the singer has revealed he suffered a heartbreak while being away – and it is what inspired his new album.
Paolo performed the first of a string of sold-out, intimate shows at London’s 100 Club on Monday. It was his first time playing in the capital since 2015 and he previewed ten of his upcoming album’s 16 tracks, many of which told of the end of a relationship.
On one particularly emotional track, Acid Eyes, he sang: “It’s like you swallowed my heart… I never told you, I loved you. And I looked into your acid eyes.” He went on to sing: “You moved so fast, we’d never last.
