There are certain properties that stand out amongst others because of their kerb appeal. One town in Rochdale is known for its selection of eye-catching houses and buildings, all designed by the same architect, but which are each unique in their own right.

Across Middleton there are a range of homes crafted by renowned architect Edgar Wood, who gained a considerable reputation for his designs in the town.

One of his stand-out properties is Arkholme, built in 1901, which represents some of the earliest modern architecture in Europe and was used as a photography studio before being turned into a home.

Andrew Beard, 35, and his family have been lucky enough to live in the Grade II listed house for the last two years, but are now looking to up sticks.
