David Beckham has compared the thrill of signing Lionel Messi for Inter Miami to walking out at Old Trafford for Manchester United.
For most of 2023 Beckham's Miami were embroiled in a transfer battle with Barcelona to sign Messi. This was ramped up a notch when the Argentinian announced he would be leaving PSG when his contract expired.
Barca were keen to re-sign their greatest-ever player but were rejected by the World Cup winner after he realised the financial pressure his old club would be under should they bring him back.
