Auction experts Bonhams have said they will put the card up for auction, with bidders able to purchase the trading card via cryptocurrency should they wish.It comes after cryptocurrency was used as part of Lionel Messi’s move to PSG from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.PSG confirmed that part of Messi’s signing on bonus was paid to the Argentine in cryptocurrency fan tokens.Bonhams' head of digital art, Nima Sagharchi, has high hopes for the future of trading cards at auctions."The sale of the Ronaldo card is a first for us but, as we expand our activities in the field of NFTs and digital art, it is an area we hope to develop in the future," said Sagharchi."Sports.
