An official for child protection has been sacked after making the bizarre claim that women can fall pregnant if they share swimming pools with men.
Sitti Hikmawatty, from Indonesia, was the focus of international ridicule when she suggested women could be impregnated by “without penetration” if they shared swimming pools with members of the opposite sex.
But following an investigation from Indonesia’s National Commission for the Protection of Indonesian Children, KPAI, the commissioner has now been given the choice of quitting her job – or being forced from it.
Sitti sparked controversy in February when she made her nonsense claim during an interview with Tribune news where she attempted to offer advice about unwanted pregnancies.
