Seven-year-old Emily died after she was attacked by the defendant as she rode her scooter towards her mother in Queen's Park, Bolton, on March 22, the jury previously heard.Skana has denied murdering the child but has pleaded guilty to manslaughter based on a defence of diminished responsibility.However, on the sixth day of the trial, Dr Saifullah Syed Afghan - a consultant forensic psychiatrist who is treating the defendant at Rampton - told the jury that there was not 'enough information' to support this defence.Diminished responsibility could apply if Skana was 'suffering from an abnormality of mental functioning' due to her previously diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia.
