NHS looking at coronavirus 'immunity passports' - but idea still in early stage

A system of coronavirus 'immunity passports' is being looked at by the NHS, the government has confirmed. Downing Street said today the NHS had been approached by a number of firms offering "solutions" to help ease the UK out of lockdown.

The NHS "are at the very early stages of reviewing the options and what is available", a No10 spokesman said. However, No10 also stressed: "The science is a considerable way from being able to support something like a health passport." Immunity certificates or passports were raised as an idea early in the outbreak.
