Investigations are continuing at the scene of a house explosion in New Mills with 14 homes still evacuated. A huge emergency services response was scrambled to the explosion at a bungalow on Ollersett Avenue in the Derbyshire town, near Stockport, at around 8am yesterday (November 14).
Residents woke to their street 'shaking' as a number of properties on the street were evacuated. A man - believed to be aged in his 70s - was airlifted to hospital.
His current condition has not been revealed at this stage. In an update issued this morning (Wednesday), a spokesperson for the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said an investigation remains underway at the scene, with the cause still being probed.
