New Look enters crisis talks with landlords across 500 UK stores

New Look has kicked off crunch talks with landlords as thousands of retailers prepare to reopen their doors on June 15. The fashion chain has reportedly hired property agents CBRE and CWM to help reduce rent costs at all of its 500 stores in the UK and Ireland.

Under the terms, the brand's payments will reflect turnover sales at each store. This model already applies at Pret a Manger, House of Fraser (including Sports Direct), Boux Avenue and stationer Ryman.

New Look had already joined the massed ranks of retailers which refused to pay rent in March, announcing that it was requesting a three-month rent holiday.
