English football’s black coaches have launched a powerful new body aimed at tackling the game’s racism crisis. Football’s Black Coalition (FBC) will lobby the game’s powerbrokers over the issues that have left the sport with just a handful of black managers, one black referee and zero black representation in decision-making positions at the top of the FA, the Premier League and the EFL.
It opens up the very real possibility of a black players’ union with stars past and present unhappy at the lack of action to deal with conscious and unconscious bias.
