A new coronavirus testing centre for frontline NHS staff, care workers, other key workers and their families will open at the Etihad Campus.

The drive-through facility, which will be available to Manchester and Trafford residents showing potential symptoms of COVID-19, will open from Monday, April 20.

Up to 100 tests can be carried out per day, with referrals for testing made by employers. Adults and children will be tested by self-swabbing, with the diagnostic test - which takes sample from the nose or throat of an individual - expected to return results within a few days.

A similar drive-through facility for frontline workers has been in place at Manchester Airport car park since the beginning of April.
