In contrast to his character, who had short dark hair and no facial hair, the 63 year old appeared unrecognisable in a recent TV appearance.
Speaking on the BBC's cricket talk show, View from the Boundary in the UK, Mark had a considerably more rugged appearance with wavy long grey hair and a new bushy beard.
After resurfacing on TV over the weekend, the Brisbane-born soap star, who now lives in Wales, was compared to the likes of Top Gear's James May, and even former UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
