Edward Christopher Sheeran, MBE (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (pronounced "plus"), was released in September 2011. It topped the UK and Australian charts, reached number five in the US, and has since been certified eight-times platinum in the UK.

The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John.

Neighbours final episode air date confirmed as Australian soap axed after 37 years

Neighbours has confirmed that the final episode of the long running series will air in August.The soap has been running for 37 years and set stars like Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan on their path to fame.It was announced that Channel 5 would drop the programme earlier this year.Neighbours' production company Fremantle were unable to find another broadcasting channel in the UK and as a result, they made the tough decision to cancel the show.Distraught fans launched a petition which garnered over 66,000 signatures and even managed to get the show’s theme tune to the top spot on iTunes, narrowly knocking off Ed Sheeran’s crown.However Ramsay Street fans were unable to secure a new channel for the soap so their efforts were to no avail.Neighbours’ official social media accounts sealed the deal with a disappointing statement: “We are so sorry to say that after nearly 37 years and almost 9000 episodes broadcast, we have to confirm that Neighbours will cease production in June.”They continued: “Following the loss of our key broadcast partner in the UK and despite an extensive search for alternative funding, we simply have no option but to rest the show. "To our amazing, loyal fans, we know this is a huge disappointment, as it is to all of us on the team.”The announcement closed by thanking fans for their “messages and support” and a promise to “end the show on an incredible high”.TV Tonight reported that Australian channel 10 Peach will air double episodes from June onwards, in a bid to catch up with UK viewers so they can all share the experience at the same time.The fall-behind was caused by the broadcaster’s decision to drop their Friday episodes, meaning they quickly began to lag behind UK’s Channel 5.New episodes were.
