'My friend laughed at my baby name and said it would be better for a dog'

A man says he has been left 'devastated' after his friends and family laughed at the name he had picked out for his future son and said it was more suited to a dog.

He explains that he is a trans male and that it has always his dream to be a father, so he's had time to consider and pick the names he wants to use for his children.

For a girl, he has chosen the name Willow, and for a boy he says he wanted to incorporate his love of Greek mythology and chose Achilles.

The legend goes that Achilles' mother had dipped him into the river Styx as an infant, which made him invulnerable to injury throughout his body except for the heel she was holding him by, which is where the idiom 'Achilles heel' comes from.
