Cops have launched an attempted murder probe after a man was deliberately struck in a hit and run. The 35-year-old was struck by a Ford Connect van in the Inverclyde town of Greenock on Friday afternoon.
The man was walking along the town's Inverkip Road with another man and a woman at around 4pm, near to the IMO car wash, when the silver van mounted the pavement and drove at them.It struck the man on the side and he later attended hospital and was released without treatment for minor injuries.
The other two people were uninjured. Police are treating the incident as attempted murder and officers are checking CCTV footage for any relevant information which could assist their enquiries.
