Mum-to-be wants to give son a family name, but husband's family say it's 'abusive'

A mum-to-be claims that she wants to give her son a certain name which is a family tradition, but her husband’s family say that it’s “abuse”.

The warring couple are having a baby boy, due in summer, and he is their first child. He is also the first grandchild in the mum’s family line, reports the Mirror.

While she knows she should be happy right now, the expectant mother finds herself in the middle of a massive argument. She wrote in a Reddit post that it’s “tearing the family apart”.

The issue at hand? Mum wants to name her son a name which is given to the firstborn son in her family since the 1800’s. She writes that the dad initially agreed to this.
