Mobile phones will be banned in classrooms under new government rules, the Education Secretary will announce today (Monday October 2).

Gillian Keegan will set out plans to ban mobile phones from classrooms in England during the Conservative Party conference in Manchester.

A source told the Daily Mail she believes the devices “pose a serious challenge in terms of distraction, disruptive behaviour and bullying”.

Children won't be allowed to use their devices on breaks or in classrooms under the new rules, however they will be allowed them to and from school.
