Mindless vandals strike electrics as new Ardrossan sports hub left without power

Ardrossan Sports Hub which has left the community-run gym with no electricity.Open for only two weeks – with £20,000 spent on new equipment and hundreds of hours of manpower utilised to get the venue in shape – heartbroken volunteers were stunned to discover they had been shut out of their hub on Monday morning.Hub trustee Scott Mould told Ayrshire Live: "The attack wasn't on the gym building itself, but the older derelict building which runs alongside the hub."Sadly, they damaged the power cables which affects the hub and that's left us with no electricity. "On Monday morning, we couldn't even get the shutters open because we have no electricity."Thankfully, it's summertime and we have a lot of natural sunlight so we're managing to get by.
