Mikel Arteta has reportedly turned to former team-mate Andrey Arshavin in a bid to land one of his summer transfer targets. The Gunners have identified Iranian star Sardar Azmoun of Zenit St Petersburg as a target to add a fresh option in attack, according to Area Napoli.
And Arteta 's relationship with Arshavin from their playing days at the Emirates could give them an advantage with the Russian now in charge of transfers at Zenit.
It is claimed he has already been in contact with Arshavin over a deal for Azmoun after he was offered to the club in April as they aim to cash-in.
