Mikael Silvestre has admitted he was in 'favour' of Manchester United's recent formation change under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. United conceded five goals against Liverpool when using the 4-2-3-1 system that has been used throughout Solskjaer's tenure.
However, the United boss was ultimately forced to change his tactical approach following that debacle at Old Trafford last month.
Solskjaer reverted to a 5-3-2 formation after that game, which places an emphasis on defensive soundness across the backline, and it succeeded in the 3-0 win at Tottenham, only to be easily exposed by Man City in their 2-0 Manchester derby win.
