Met Office issues update on Storm Ivo as 55mph winds and rain to hit parts of UK

Another named storm arriving from the continent is set to hit parts of the UK. After Storm Éowyn wrecked havoc on the country last Friday (January 24), Storm Herminia arrived two days later with more strong winds and heavy rain.

Herminia had been named by the Spanish meteorological service, and today (Wednesday) another European storm is expected to impact the UK's weather.

Remnants of Storm Ivo, named by the Portuguese meteorological service, could bring downpours and gusty winds to parts of England.

A band of heavy rain is expected to sweep the south coast - arriving in Cornwall this morning before making its way eastwards throughout the afternoon.
