A Met Office weather map has revealed when strong winds and rain will hit the north west with another cold blast to creep in over the coming days.
Forecasters have said a band of strong winds and rain are expected from Monday night (February 3) and that a 'high-pressure system' on the way will result on cold conditions taking hold across the UK by the weekend.
Temperatures look set to drop back to below average by the end of this week, the Met Office said, with ice and wintry showers expected over higher ground.
New maps released by the Met Office show the band of high pressure moving in across the British Isles as this week progresses, bringing with it a band of wet and windy weather.
