direct to your inbox Greater Manchester has been issued a severe weather warning lasting three days with snow and ice forecast to hit the region on Monday.
The Met Office predicts up to 10cm of snow could fall on higher ground, which could be heavy at times and may lead to travel disruption.Forecasters warn that snow, with a risk of widespread ice, is likely to push slowly northeast from late Monday, bringing difficult travel conditions.The warning remains in place for the region and large parts of northern England from 9pm on Monday (February 1) until 11.45pm on Wednesday (February 3).According to the warning, there is also a small chance of some vehicles and passengers becoming stranded, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air.
