Arsenal star Mesut Ozil’s analysis of Jerome Boateng from 2019 has re-emerged as the defender is linked with a transfer. The Gunners midfielder has been outcast by Mikel Arteta, not selecting the World Cup-winner for his Premier League or Europa League squads.
But German outlet Bild have reported that he could be joined by former international team-mate Boateng. Bayern Munich have decided not to extend the centre-back’s contract after nine years, despite helping them win the Champions League last season.
And this could spark the interest of Arsenal, who attempted to sign the 32-year-old on loan in January. It has seen Ozil’s comments re-emerge after Joachim Low confirmed Boateng would not be used by the international side on 5 March.
