Dog handler Charlotte Winstanley, a rescue worker at Irlam-based animal sanctuary Dogs4Rescue, shares her life, her home and even her bed with some of the centre’s residents, usually five or six at a time but sometimes up to eight.
Living onsite in what is known as the rescue’s rehab caravan, Charlotte works with the most scared and traumatised dogs and prepares them for rehoming.
Some are so timid that they won’t let anyone near them, let alone touch them. But with patience, TLC and a few treats, Charlotte’s caravan is a safe space for the rescued dogs
