A severe test of Celtic's resolve over Matt O'Riley is coming with English Premier League clubs set to ignite a bidding 'war' during the last final week of the transfer window.
Atletico Madrid are keen on the Hoops midfielder and are eyeing a loan deal until the end of the season before making the switch to the Spanish capital permanent. Record Sport understands that the Premiership champions will boot out any attempts from Atleti, and are holding out for at least the £25million they banked for Portuguese star Jota last summer.
That could prove too rich for Diego Simeone, who has already splashed £23m on teen star Arthur from Royal Antwerp. The Argentine hasn't given up hope of landing O'Riley.
But the Daily Mail claim that several English big guns are set to make their move before the window closes in a week's time.
