Martin Lewis has given workers the lowdown on what today's big changes to the Government's furlough scheme will mean for them.

The announcement of the new rules from Chancellor Rishi Sunak comes as it was revealed some 7.5million people are now on furlough as close to a million different companies take advantage of it.

But the scheme was due to end next month, prompting worries about job losses with huge sections of the economy still shut down.

Fortunately, on that front, there was good news. "The Chancellor has just stood up in Parliament and announced an extension of the furlough scheme until October," Martin Lewis explained in a video posted on Twitter.
