Shamed BBC reporter Martin Bashir has hit back at critics by saying that he "loved" Princess Diana and was not responsible for the events that led to her death.
Bashir said he "never wanted to harm" Diana, Princess of Wales, with the Panorama interview, adding: "I don't believe we did." He apologised to Princes William and Harry, but also disputed the former's claim that his conduct increased her isolation and paranoia.
Bashir's reputation is in tatters following Lord Dyson's report that he used "deceitful behaviour" to land his world exclusive 1995 interview.
