Marks and Spencer chiefs silent on impact of job cuts on Dumbarton stores
dailyrecord.co.ukGet the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our personalised newsletter.Marks and Spencer chiefs have said that they won’t be confirming any potential job losses in their two Dumbarton stores, as the company axed more than 7000 employees across the country.A spokesperson told the Lennox: “Our announcement is UK wide and we are not breaking this down by store or country.“The proposal to streamline our business is UK wide and we will not be sharing further numbers.”M&S currently operates two stores in the area; one at St James Retail Park in Dumbarton and another inside the BP garage on the A82 at Milton.The business has been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, with group revenue dropping by 19 percent across the board.
