Armed police scrambled to Manchester Victoria following reports of a person in 'a precarious position' at the train station.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Friday afternoon (August 2). Commuters were removed from their trains following the incident, with images sent to the MEN showing scores of travellers waiting in the train station lobby.
A number of platforms were closed with trains cancelled and delays as British Transport Police (BTP) and Greater Manchester Police officers secured the area.
A police van and fire engine from the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were also spotted at the entrance of the train station.
