Police have issued a new statement on a triple stabbing at a house in Gorton that killed a mum and left a man and teenage girl critically injured.
Emergency services raced to the scene on Barnard Road at around 11.20pm to reports that three people had been stabbed. Police had received 'numerous calls' from concerned members of the public, with local neighbours telling the M.E.N of the moment they saw a girl being chased and stabbed in the street.
A woman, now named as 43-year-old Alberta Obinim tragically died at the scene. A 17-year-old girl and a 64-year-old man suffered serious injuries and were rushed to hospital where they remain in a critical and life-threatening condition. Greater Manchester Police have revealed that they are not looking to identify anyone else in connection with the knife attack.
