Liverpool are reportedly talking to Jeremie Frimpong's agent, Dirk Hebel, after Manchester United held talks with the player's representatives themselves last summer.
The Manchester Evening News reported in April that United were keen on signing the Manchester City Academy graduate. Then-manager Erik ten Hag was said to be a fan of his countryman - when intent on signing a new right-back to compete with Diogo Dalot.
Frimpong extended his contract with Bayer Leverkusen six months later until the summer of 2028, though, to the exact date Dalot also penned his own extension last year.
United have since sold Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United and signed Noussair Mazraoui from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
