In the space of two days United went from fronting proposals for a new controversial European Super League, to publicly withdrawing from the plans following vast backlash while Ed Woodward tendered his resignation as executive vice-chairman.
The MEN was informed of Woodward's intention for this season to be his last full campaign with United back in November and the club said the announcement was brought forward to avoid leaks.
