Manchester United feel they have significantly strengthened their squad after completing the signing of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day.
United always intended to strengthen their midfield options this summer and Ugarte has been signed on a permanent deal for €50million (£42.3m), with a further €10m (£8.5m) in add-ons.
United were reluctant to match PSG's asking price of a €60m (£50.6m) fixed fee and they believe the deal has shown their patient approach to the negotiations has worked.
Ugarte, who has signed a five-year contract, with the option of another year, was left out of the PSG squad for their opening two Ligue 1 games after he expressed his desire to move to Old Trafford.
